Scenario: An Organization with mixed Unreal Engine and Unity Projects
We do not support mixing Unreal Engine and Unity scenes in the same Cognitive3D Project. The short explanation is that they use different coordinate and unit systems. Unreal uses centimeters and Unity uses meters. These are incompatible when used in the same Project.
Solution
Always create separate Projects in your Organization if you have both Unity and Unreal applications. Creating separate Projects will differentiate them on the Cognitive3D dashboard and the units difference won't cause conflicts.
Use the "gear" icon in the upper-right of the dashboard web page to open the menu (1). Then click "Organization Settings" to go to your organization's page (2).
Once you are on the Organization Settings page, use the Create Project button to make a new Project for your other application (3).
Multiple projects
- It's fine to mix and match Unity and Unreal projects in the same Organization.
- Don't mix Unity and Unreal scenes in the same Project.
- Organizations can have multiple Projects without having to change your subscription plan type. That is, without having to pay more (unless you exceed other limits on your plan, like the number of sessions, by adding more projects.)
Permissions
To create a new Project in an Organization you require "Organization Administrator" permissions. To check your user role (permissions granted) go to your Personal Settings -> Organizations page on the dashboard. This is also accessible from the gear menu (4).
Then select "Organizations" under "Personal Settings" in the menu on the left side of the dashboard page (5).
Your permissions for each Organization you are a member of are shown in the User roles column.
If you do not have Organization Administrator permissions please ask a team member with these permissions to do this for you.
