Deployment options

The Organizational Dashboard is delivered through one of two patterns, depending on the Power BI or Microsoft Fabric environment you already run and how much of the dashboard experience you want inside your own tenant.

In both patterns, Cognitive3D is responsible for the data pipeline — ingestion from the Cognitive3D API, aggregation, and the derived user, device, and metric tables that power the dashboard. You take on the dashboard inside your own tenant.

Custom Power BI connector

A Cognitive3D-branded Power BI custom connector that pulls directly from the Cognitive3D REST API. Suitable for customers on Power BI Pro, Power BI Premium Per User, Power BI Premium, or Microsoft Fabric who want to query Cognitive3D data without an intermediate warehouse.

What you provide:

  • A Power BI license — Pro, Premium Per User, Premium, or Fabric.
  • A scoped Cognitive3D organization API key.

What Cognitive3D provides:

  • The .mez connector file.
  • The Power BI report template (.pbit).
  • Installation and connection guidance.

The Import semantic model refreshes on whatever schedule your Power BI license permits — up to 8 times per day on Pro, 48 on Premium Per User and Premium.

Shared-storage delivery

For enterprise customers on Microsoft Fabric or Power BI Premium who want the full Organizational Dashboard inside their own tenant. Cognitive3D runs the ingestion and transformation pipeline, including the derived user, device, and metric tables, and writes refined Parquet datasets to a shared Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 container. Your workspace reads the container natively via Microsoft Fabric's built-in connectors and applies the Cognitive3D report template.

What you provide:

  • A Microsoft Fabric workspace on F-SKU capacity, or a Power BI Premium workspace.
  • An Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 container that Cognitive3D can write to.
  • A scoped Cognitive3D organization API key for the source data.

What Cognitive3D provides:

  • The data pipeline, running in Cognitive3D infrastructure.
  • Refined datasets — sessions, scene sessions, users, devices, and projects — written to the shared container on a daily schedule, along with a set of pre-computed DAX measures that power the dashboard's composite metrics.
  • The Power BI report template, pre-configured to read from the container.

This is the same Import-mode pattern that powers the Cognitive3D public demo, extended across a tenant boundary.

Choosing between them

The connector is the fastest way to point Power BI at Cognitive3D data. It works in any Power BI workspace, requires no Microsoft Fabric capacity, and is fully productized.

Shared-storage delivery is the right fit when you want the full branded Organizational Dashboard inside your own tenant under your own data governance, and you are already invested in Microsoft Fabric or Power BI Premium.

In both cases, deployments are configured to align with your existing data systems, reporting requirements, and organizational structure. The dashboard shown in the public demo is a reference point that we adapt to fit specific use cases and workflows.

How to get access

The connectors and report templates are not available for self-serve download. To discuss which deployment option fits your environment and to begin an engagement, contact Cognitive3D. Your account team will walk through the prerequisites listed above and coordinate the connector or shared-storage setup with your data team.
